Serial production of indoor access point WEP-200L

1 December 2022 The indoor access point WEP-200L has been launched into serial production. The access point has all the features which are necessary for corporate networks and further flexible scaling.
WEP-200L supports Wi-Fi 5, simultaneous dual-band operation and provides bandwidth of up to 2033 Mbps (up to 300 Mbps for 2.4 GHz and up to 1733 for 5 GHz).
When developing the access point, engineers of Eltex considered the experience of wireless devices operation under high number of simultaneous connections. WEP-200L is equipped with embedded omnidirectional antennas and supports MIMO technology to provide higher data rates. MIMO 2×2 is available for 2.4 GHz band operation, MIMO 4×4 — for 5 GHz. The recommended quantity of simultaneous connections is up to 60 devices.

Seamless roaming
The use of several WEP-200L access points provides significant extension of coverage area. It ensures uninterrupted Internet connection for corporate users without additional authorization or connection loss while walking within different access points’ coverage. The switching from one access point to another will be unnoticeable: no need for repeating authorization, interruptions of audio and video calls, content reload.

Management, configuration and update
WEP-200L operates stand-alone as well as under management of Eltex SoftWLC controller. The controller allows managing the whole access points fleet and provides easy configuration and update via NETCONF. Moreover, management is also available via Telnet, SSH, CLI, SNMP and web interface.

Authorization and security
WEP-200L uses WPA/WPA2 and WPA/WPA2 Enterprise protocols to secure corporate networks. Individual data encryption and complex traffic encryption protect the access point and connected user devices from intrusions or data leakage.
Authorization via RADIUS server is available using individual dynamic key (EAP-TLS) or login and password (EAP-PEAP), which helps to personalize access of corporate employees as well as to defend network against unauthorized external access.
Captive portal is available for guest access. Authorization of guests might be implemented via phone call, SMS or via government portal account. It might be required due to legal regulations regarding public networks in your country.
WEP-200L allows creating up to 8 virtual access points and configuring individual access rights, login and password for each of them.
