Z-Wave sensors from Eltex can be controlled by voice commands using Salute virtual assistants

21 December 2022 In November, we reported on the support of SW-PLG01 smart socket and SW-RLY01 lighting control relay by the Sber smart home platform. Now it also works with Z-Wave sensors from Eltex. SZ-MCT contact door/window sensors and SZ-PIR motion sensors are currently available. At the beginning of next year, the Sber platform will support SZ-WLK water leak detector.

The sensors are based on the current version of the Z-Wave standard. The benefits of this standard are:

• S2 security level with 128-bit encryption;
• long-term operation on a single battery;
• up to 100 meters from the smart home controller to the sensor (direct visibility).

Z-Wave sensors can be controlled from the Eltex Home and Salute applications. To connect, you need a Wi-Fi router with a smart home hub. Eltex offers four of these routers:

With network connection using twisted pair cables:

• RG-35-WZ;
• RG-5440G-WZ.

With network connection using fiber-optic cables:

• NTU-RG-5420G-WZ;
• NTU-RG-5440G-WZ.

The integration expands the possibilities of using Eltex sensors in conjunction with equipment that is supported by the Sber smart home platform. These can be smart devices, sensors, and household appliances from other manufacturers.
With SmartStart technology from the Eltex Home app, the user can easily, in a few steps, add sensors to the Eltex smart home platform using QR code. It is also very simple and quick to integrate the sensors into the Sber smart home platform — you just need to link your Eltex Home account in the Salute app and specify the devices that need to be added.

The Sber smart home platform supports the management of smart devices using the Salute family of virtual assistants — Joy, Athena, and Sber. The user will be able to select a favorite assistant and manage devices, find out their status, and create scenarios using voice commands.

This provides a new experience of using and simplifies the management, especially in situations where it is difficult to use the application interface. For example, when the user is busy cleaning the house or working.
