ELTEX launched the development of 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) access points

24 September 2019

The new Wi-Fi 802.11ax standard will provide maximum speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps of access points, as well as a stable wireless connection for all connected devices.

Due to OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies, Wi-Fi 6 generation provides more efficient, stable and faster data transfer even while transmitting information to multiple devices.

The specifics of the 802.11ax standard allows access points to serve a larger number of clients in high-loaded networks and supports their better interaction in a WLAN, including the Internet of Things (IoT). The flexibility of connecting to the IoT is achieved by integrating the Z-wave module.

In addition to the advantages of the new standard, adaptive Smart antennas will be integrated to ELTEX access points. Also the possibility of active scanning of the surrounding radio air will be incorporated, which will improve the quality of service and monitoring the security of the wireless network. Furthermore, scanning the radio air will allow the collection of customer information (MAC addresses) to improve the effectiveness of marketing tools.

It should be noted that most of the described innovations will be available subject to their support in client devices. The official approval of the standard is scheduled for the third quarter of 2019.
