Launch of MES2420B-24D multi-gigabit access switch with power backup capability

About the product
The growing demand for bandwidth from end devices dictates the need for higher speeds. Wi-Fi 6/6E access points, workstations, servers, all these and other elements of modern infrastructure already require connections that go beyond Gigabit Ethernet.
The mass production of the MES2420B-24D multi-gigabit switch has been launched. It will help to reveal the potential of demanding equipment and will become a reliable basis for creating productive access networks for companies of any size.
Interfaces and performance
MES2420B-24D is compatible with Cat5e cables, which are widely used in enterprise networks. This allows upgrading the network without having to replace the cabling infrastructure.
The switch configuration includes 24 RJ-45 ports of 2.5 Gbps and 4 SFP+ ports of 10 Gbps. The SFP+ ports of 10 Gbps, in addition to connecting to upstream network equipment, can be used for devices that require speeds over 2.5 Gbps, such as Wi-Fi 7 access points and servers. The bandwidth in duplex mode is 200 Gbps.
The MAC address table with 32768 entries allows using the device in large networks with many connected devices.
Network features
MES2420B-24D integrates advanced traffic management features including VLAN, QoS and Multicast, multi-level access control based on different criteria and protection against various threats.
The device supports both IPv4/IPv6 static routing and RIP v1, v2 and OSPF v2, v3 dynamic routing protocols. To use the device as a default L3 gateway, the VRRP protocol is applied to provide redundancy.
Fault tolerance
One of the MES2420B-24D key features is battery backup power supply. MES2420B-24D automatically switches to it if the main 230 V power line is unavailable. In addition to this, the device: charges the battery using the built-in power supply; monitors the status of the primary network and battery and sends notifications when switching from one power type to another.
With hardware support for Dying Gasp technology, administrators are promptly notified of power supply system failures, which allows them to respond to problems in a timely manner and to minimize potential equipment downtime.
For scalability and fault tolerance, stacking of up to eight units is available*.
Management
Local management and initial setup of MES2420B-24D is performed via the console port on the front panel. The current remote administration and authentication protocols, such as SSH, Telnet, SNMP, LLDP, Syslog, Radius, TACACS+ and etc. are supported.
For convenient operation, it is recommended to use the Eltex Cloud Configuration Manager (ECCM) system, which provides a centralized interface for configuring, updating and monitoring the network infrastructure equipment.
