Video analytics and access control intelligent system based on EVI

Description
The trend in video surveillance is changing – from simple perimeter control to intelligent video analytics and organization of «smart» access to the territory. To build systems that cover these needs, we have developed a comprehensive solution. It is based on Russian software included in the register of domestic software (EVI Platform), and proven equipment – IP cameras and Eltex network controllers.
Our ecosystem covers a wide range of tasks. In addition to the basic function of event capture, we have implemented computer vision (CV), which allows to recognize objects automatically and their appearance in the frame along with an access control system – initiate preset reaction scenarios in real time.
The entire range of software and hardware solutions can be applied to various tasks and areas – from small and medium-sized businesses to large offices and industrial sites with hundreds of video cameras. For example, it allows to automate the access control, organize the accounting of working hours. More fine-tuning allows to monitor safety compliance, control queues and capture unauthorized site activity.
Solution
EVI Platform
The EVI Platform is a client-server solution. This solution is used as the basis for deploying enterprise-level video surveillance systems. The software architecture is modular: customers connect only those components that are necessary for their tasks, which helps to avoid unnecessary expenses. Functionality is implemented through three key modules: EVI Perimeter, EVI Analytics, and EVI SCUD.
- EVI Perimeter
Video surveillance module. Administrators use this module to manage video streams and work with archives.
EVI Perimeter supports video wall display on three monitors.
- EVI Analytics
The video analytics module is the intelligent capability of the platform. This module is designed to process video streams from cameras using AI algorithms and extract meaningful information.
Video streams are processed in real time. Analytics events are stored in an archive and can be viewed in the client interface.
The development plans include the addition of many other intelligent functions. For example, we plan to implement analytics without PACS (face and number recognition based on lists), an “alert” function, analytics filtering in the web player, analysis of archived data, anti-sabotage (alerts about camera closure or angle change), support for detectors of different types of objects (bicycles, animals, masks, uniforms), inter-camera tracking, and analytics for retail in the form of people counting and heat maps.
- EVI SCUD
Module for organizing Physical Access Control System (PACS). In conjunction with EVI Analytics, the system can automatically provide or block access based on recognized data. It allows to organize access control and manage executive devices using controllers.
In case of unauthorized access, an alarm, or camera shutdown, the system generates a critical notification in the web interface.
The platform is compatible with Eltex IP cameras and third-party devices using the ONVIF protocol. The system can be scaled without restrictions on the number of connected devices – the possibilities depend on server capacity and the selected license.
Eltex IP cameras
The solution for building a video surveillance system includes Eltex IP cameras from the project and channel series in the following designs: cylinder (SV-BA301-E and SV-BA401-E) and dome (SV-BA314-E and SV-BA414-E).
Channel and project cameras support built-in intelligent video analytics functions: motion detection, line crossing, and area entry and exit. Project cameras also perform face detection and human-type object detection. This allows for initial processing of the video stream directly on the device side.
We continue to develop the product line. Now we are developing a dome camera in a vandal-proof design and a cylindrical model with a motorized varifocal lens.
PACS controller
The IPA-ER-020 controller, mounted on a DIN rail, is used to implement the EVI SCUD functionality. It provides control of third-party actuators: turnstiles, barriers, gates, doors, entry buttons, electric locks, etc. Control is achieved by closing/opening relays.
The immediate plans include expanding the range of PACS controllers: a more powerful model is being prepared for release, supporting up to 50,000 keys and capable of controlling two full-fledged passages (with two readers – for entry and exit).
