Video surveillance system with Eltex IP cameras

Nowadays, video surveillance systems are one of the key tools for control and security, and it is difficult to imagine the infrastructure of a company or government agency without such a system. Cameras help to create a controlled area: monitor events at facilities, ensure transparency of processes, and minimize the risks of unauthorized access.

Considering this, we have expanded our range of equipment with IP cameras. The EVI Platform and MES switches form a unified security system.
 

Solution design

IP cameras

Cameras are an integral part of any video surveillance system. The Eltex IP camera series is available in two form factors: cylindrical and dome.

• Cylindrical cameras — SV-BA301-E (project), SV-BA401-E (channel);
• Dome cameras of the “ball in a glass” type — SV-BA314-E (project), SV-BA414-E (channel).

The cameras support onboard video analytics in the form of motion detection, line crossing, and perimeter detection. The project series of cameras has a more extensive list of video analytics: face detection and human-type object detection.

The equipment is designed for outdoor or indoor installation and operates at temperatures ranging from -40 to +60 °C. Protection ratings of IP66/IP67 (depending on the model) guarantee resistance to dust and moisture. Camera configuration and real-time monitoring are performed via a web interface.

As our company continues to develop new models, a dome vandal-proof camera with a 1/2.7" sensor and IK10 impact resistance rating is expected to be released by the end of 2025. The product range will also be expanded with a cylindrical camera with a varifocal lens, a 1/2.8" sensor, and IR illumination up to 60 m.

MES switches

Eltex MES series access switches with PoE support are used to connect cameras. Our product range includes more than 30 models with different configurations: 8, 24, or 48 ports; PoE budget from 65 to 1450 W and bandwidth from 20 to 176 Gbps. A wide selection of equipment makes it possible to design a video surveillance system in accordance with the needs of the organization.

The switches support stacking of up to 8 devices, allowing flexibility to scale the complex as necessary.

Platform for creating a video surveillance system

The EVI Platform is used to manage the entire system. This solution is designed for surveillance, access control, and analytics. The platform consists of three modules:

• EVI Perimeter — centralized video surveillance, camera control, and access to video archives via a client application;
• EVI Analytics — intelligent video analytics with face, number, and object recognition and incident recording;
• EVI SCUD — module for organizing access control: allows restricting entry to protected areas, tracking movements, and keeping records of visits.
