We invite you to test a new version of vESBC

28 April 2025

vESBC Session Boundary Controller

The vESBC, Session Border Controller, is a new Eltex software solution for operator and corporate VoIP networks. The development started at the end of 2022. Over time, the product has become a powerful tool with wide capabilities for ensuring the security of the VoIP infrastructure, optimizing signaling and me-dia traffic.

The current controller version of 1.5.0 is a commercial release, ready for implementation in your networks. We invite you to test vESBC and evaluate its operation in real conditions. Our specialists will provide technical support during implementation and answer your questions.

Below are the key features of vESBC available at the moment.

Performance

The vESBC current version is capable of handling up to 500 calls per second and up to 11,500 simultaneous connections.

Routing

  • vESBC uses B2BUA peering to control signaling and media traffic.
  • Implemented routing to groups of directions with load balancing and automatic call rerouting in case of failures.
  • The availability of directions is controlled by the OPTIONS method.

Working with subscribers

  • Supported registration of remote subscribers via ESBC on the upstream SIP server.
  • Implemented the NAT comedia mode functions and connections over NAT (RFC5626 CLRF).

SIP

  • Supported a core set of SIP standards and UDP, TCP and TLS transport protocols for signaling
  • Implemented SIP normalization.
  • vESBC allows modification of SIP headers using regular expressions. SIP profiles provide extensive customization options for signaling processing.
  • Supported WebRTC, ICE for browser clients (RFC5768, RFC8840).

Media processing

  • The system provides RTP/RTCP traffic proxy with support for transcoding of audio and video codecs, facsimile communication via T38 UDPTL.
  • The media traffic is secured via SRTP using SDES and DTLS.
  • The media profiles allow customization of media types and management of transcoding and stream processing parameters.

Security

  • vESBC has built-in protection against DoS attacks and specific VoIP threats.
  • Signaling traffic is encrypted via TLS.

Fault tolerance

  • Registration data is stored in a database with the ability to be restored.
  • Dynamically changing the number of available modules helps optimizing the system load.
  • Supported RPS and CPS limit management, maximum number of simultaneous calls to protect the system from overload.

Flexible customization

  • It is possible to modify SIP headers using regular expressions, change number parameters (CgPN/CdPN), convert SDP using media profiles (media sections, codecs management).
  • Supported trunks division by SIP domains.
  • Added the ability to configure the processing algorithm of 3XX SIP responses for redirection.

Hypervisor support

  • vESBC runs on a Linux server via popular hypervisors such as KVM, Oracle VirtualBox, VMWare ESXi.
  • The installation distribution is available as an ISO image.

Statistics and monitoring

  • Viewing call statistics (number of calls, error counters, CPS value, number of SIP messages sent/received) by direction.
  • Viewing information about registered subscribers, availability of directions, list of blocked IP addresses.

Web interface

  • Viewing system information (software version, RAM usage, CPU load, etc.), licenses monitoring.
  • Software upload, configuration files management, logging settings.
