New features of ECCM for managing WLC Wi-Fi controllers

Last fall version 2.0 of ECCM system was released. It helps administrators to perform centralized management of various network devices within enterprise infrastructures. We consistently expand the system’s functionality in different areas including management of wireless networks based on Eltex equipment.
 

In earlier versions, we offered basic support for WLC controllers. This allowed monitoring hardware resources and interfaces of a device, upgrading software and changing configuration using built-in editor or templates.
 

In the latest 2.1 release, monitoring scope was significantly expanded. It is now possible to track status of wireless networks and access points and also receive special events related to them.  

• Wi-Fi network monitoring with detailed information about locations, users and access points. Information about devices is now available in one place to help quickly find areas of network with high load and potential problems.
• Registration and deregistration of access points is now performed via a convenient ECCM control window and not directly via WLC. This makes network administration easier and reduces the chance of errors.
• Creation of event generation rules based on network data. Administrators can set conditions for the system to automatically track changes and warn about them. For example, when access point is overloaded or loses connection an alarm event is generated and a notification is sent to an administrator via web interface, email or Telegram.

ECCM supports the WLC-15, WLC-30 and WLC-3200 hardware controllers. Correct network data display is supported for WLC version 1.30.2 and higher.

Starting with version 2.1, a licensing method for ECCM is changed. The system now includes the Eltex License Manager service that makes it easy to manage equipment licenses.
