NAICE 1.0. New chapter in the evolution of network access control

In 2025, NAICE underwent significant development. Throughout the year, we enhanced the system across multiple directions. In spring, we introduced support for TACACS+, followed by expanded Wi-Fi network control enabled by a built-in Captive Portal.

These releases laid the foundation for our key update: version 1.0. This update includes capabilities that address current corporate network security requirements and prepare the system for further evolution.

• Integration with SIEM systems

NAICE can now transmit security event information to external SIEM platforms. This enables organizations to consolidate data from various sources, detect threats and incidents in a timely manner, and automate attack detection processes.

• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

The update introduces a role-based access model. Administrators can flexibly distribute permissions within the team, assign roles with predefined permission sets, and manage access boundaries across NAICE subsystems.

• User action logging in NAICE

The system now records operations performed within the NAICE interface. This feature supports security incident investigations and provides visibility and control over configuration changes.

• Distribution in OVA format

The system is now available as an OVA image bundled with a web panel that simplifies certificate installation, configuration, and the import/export of NAICE backups and settings. To get started, simply download and launch the virtual machine image and run it, no additional software (such as Ansible or Docker) is required.

• Among other improvements introduced in version 1.0 are:
   
  • logging and database storage of endpoint sessions;
  • PostgreSQL upgrade from version 15 to version 17;
  • new web interface built on Protocol UI;
  • the ability to clone authorization profiles.

Version 1.0 marks a new phase in the development of NAICE. Moving forward, we will continue strengthening administrative capabilities and integration options.
