Eltex VoIP product updates

We have released several software updates for our VoIP products. These updates apply to the SMG IP PBX, the ECSS-10 Softswitch platform, and the ESBC Session Border Controllers. Let’s find out what has changed.

SMG 3.410

The 3.410 version for SMG introduces the software API for system management and integration with external services. The API provides an interface for:

  • creating, editing, and deleting objects;
  • retrieving reports, directories, and process statuses;
  • launching business processes;
  • automating document generation;
  • synchronizing data between systems.

This allows SMG to be integrated with CRM, ERP and websites, creating a unified management system.

The role model has also been updated. The expanded role set with more precise access rights allows for flexible distribution of administrator authority.

ECSS 3.17

The 3.17 release version for ECSS-1, offers several architecturally significant changes.

Migrating to PostgreSQL

The platform has been migrated from MySQL to PostgreSQL. This ensures:

  • more efficient processing of complex queries;
  • stable operation under high load;
  • advanced transaction and concurrency mechanisms;
  • various replication types for fault tolerance.

ELM licensing (online)

The ELM online licensing system has been implemented. Users no longer need physical tokens. The software can be installed on hosts with arbitrary names. The centralized license management has also been implemented.

ECSS-10 functionality update

The new version features a general set of improvements aimed at enhancing system performance and stability. Call routing capabilities have been expanded, and signaling traffic processing has been optimized.

ESBC 1.8

The 1.8 Version of ESBC aims to improve connectivity and operational transparency in complex network topologies.

L2TP/PPTP support

The L2TP and PPTP tunnels support has been implemented for transmitting signaling and media traffic. Tunneling enables secure data exchange over public networks (for L2TP), combines branches into a single infrastructure, and provides remote employee access to corporate resources.

Enhanced NAT support (STUN server / STUN client)

The STUN (Session Traversal Utilities for NAT) protocol support has been added for determining public ESBC address and traversing NAT. This allows for proper configuration of signaling and media traffic and avoids issues such as one-way audio, no audio, or dropped calls.

When operating in STUN server mode, ESBC allows external subscribers to traverse NAT without using third-party services.

Trunk registration

Trunk registration support has been implemented for establishing connections between IP PBXs, carrier networks, and other VoIP systems. Login and password authentication is supported. This allows SIP accounts provided by the carrier to be configured directly on the ESBC, without the need to configure them in the corporate PBX.

Expanded monitoring functions

The system now includes tools for more detailed analytics and real-time monitoring of connection and trunk status. This simplifies diagnostics and improves the ESBC node manageability.

We also have other functional improvements and updates planned. Stay tuned for all the changes. We invite you to learn more about all Eltex VoIP products and testing program: foreign.sales@eltex-co.ru.
