Review of the WB-3P-PTP6 wireless bridge with 6 GHz band support

Mass production
A new model of the Eltex wireless bridge, WB-3P-PTP6, has been launched into mass production. It is designed to organize radio communication channels between remote points. This is the third device in the product line: we presented the first model, WB-3P-PTP2 (2.4 GHz), at the end of 2024, and the second one, WB-3P-PTP5 (5 GHz), in May 2025. The new product differs from its predecessors with 6 GHz band support, which allows using an additional frequency spectrum to build wireless data transmission channels.
New generation radio bridge
WB-3P-PTP6 supports the Wi-Fi 6E standard, making this solution productive. The actual data transfer rate can reach up to 1300 Mbps with a 160 MHz channel width. The throughput is affected by distance, line of sight, and the presence of interference. The use of MU-MIMO 2x2 technology, coupled with an offset parabolic antenna, helps to establish stable communication channels between remote points.
The built-in 9 dBi sector antenna can enable data transmission over distances up to 3 km. When an offset parabolic antenna is connected, the bridge range can increase to 34 km, ensuring stable operation even in densely built-up areas.
Connection scenarios
The device can be used in the point-to-point mode, and as a subscriber station in the point-to-multipoint scheme.
In the first case, two WB-3P-PTP6 devices are installed at sites with direct line of sight to each other – for example, between the central office and the production area. This provides a direct high-speed channel without the need for cable laying.
In the second case, the bridge is used as a terminal device: WB-3P-PTP6 is installed at each connected object as a terminal subscriber station and works in conjunction with a base station.
Performance and load capacity
The new model is based on high-performance processors and a hardware platform optimized for fixed broadband wireless access (FBWA). This ensures minimal latency, high data processing speeds and connection stability under heavy traffic.
Security and management
Radio channel encryption is performed according to the WPA3 standard. If necessary, it is possible to restrict access to the device based on MAC addresses (MAC ACL).
For device administration, access rights are differentiated with the ability to authenticate using a local account or via a RADIUS server. Management is achieved through a variety of interfaces, including Web, CLI, SSH, Telnet, NETCONF, and SNMP.
Construction and installation
WB-3P-PTP6 is designed for year-round operation. It is resistant to moisture and dust according to the IP67 rating, and operates within a wide temperature range of –45 to +65 °C. The device is installed on a pole, wall or in a holder of offset parabolic antenna.
The wireless bridge is powered via an Ethernet cable using Passive PoE 24 V technology. This simplifies installation and reduces cabling costs.
The new model of the wireless bridge is already available for order. For more information, please contact Eltex Sales Department at foreign.sales@eltex-co.ru.
