Overview of the WB-3P-PTP5 wireless bridge for the 5 GHz band

Pre-production
Pre-production and field testing of the WB-3P-PTP5 wireless bridges operating in the 5 GHz range have been completed. The new model is designed to connect remote objects to the networks of companies, telecom operators and government agencies in conditions where cable connection is difficult or impractical.
WB-3P-PTP5 expands the ELTEX product line of Wi-Fi 6 radio bridges, which was launched with WB-3P-PTP2 for 2.4 GHz range.
Use with parabolic antenna
The built-in sector antenna of WB-3P-PTP5 has a gain of 9 dBi, a beam width of 65° in both planes and a powerful transmitter of 27 dBm.
It is recommended to use WB-3P-PTP5 together with an offset parabolic antenna. This will significantly increase the operating distance up to 34 km, improve the quality of data transmission and resistance to interference.
For all weather conditions
WB-3P-PTP5 has an IP67-rated enclosure. The weatherproof design allows using the device in difficult climatic conditions: in the rain, snow, at high and low temperatures from –45°C to +65°C. The included cable gland will protect the connections from external influences.
Connection options
When connecting remote objects in a point-to-point configuration, a pair of the WB-3P-PTP5 devices is required.
In a point-to-multipoint configuration, the radio bridge is used as a terminal subscriber station and is installed at each object that needs to be connected to the base station.
Technologies and performance
The new model supports Wi-Fi 6 and related technologies such as MU-MIMO 2×2 and OFDMA, 1024QAM. Channel width is up to 160 MHz, throughput is up to 2402 Mbps.
1 Gbps Ethernet port is used to connect to the network; power is supplied using Passive PoE 24 V technology. A PoE injector is included into the supply package.
Security
Data encryption is provided by WPA2 and WPA3 protocols in Personal/Enterprise versions, OWE is used for open networks.
User authentication is performed via local accounts or via a RADIUS server. The mass production of the WB-3P-PTP5 wireless bridges is planned for the second quarter of 2025. We are also currently working on the WB-3P-PTP6 development. It is a new model with 6 GHz support.
