Pre-production of the WB-3P-PTP2 wireless bridge – a new product in the Eltex line of wireless broadband devices – has been launched. Weatherproof IP67 protection, Wi-Fi 6 support, several application scenarios. Learn more about these and other features of the device by clicking here:
The wireless bridge WB-3P-PTP2 is designed to organize Wi-Fi communication channels where laying cable lines between objects is difficult, impossible or economically inexpedient. The device can be used to connect remote sites of enterprises, telecommunication providers and government agencies.
Application scenarios
- Radio bridge (point-to-point). It is used to create a direct high-speed data transmission channel between two fixed points at a considerable distance from each other. For example, it can be a channel between a central office and a branch office, two warehouses or remote production sites.
A complete connection between two sites requires the usage of the same WB-3P-PTP2 as transmitting and receiving device. This ensures compatibility and performance of the solution.
- Subscriber station (point-to-multipoint). In this mode WB-3P-PTP2 is used as a terminal device to connect remote sites (private houses, buildings) to the base station at a long distance.
Interfaces and performance
The WB-3P-PTP2 supports IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ax standards and operates in 2.4 GHz range. The real bandwidth is up to 460 Mbps. The radio interface supports MU-MIMO 2×2 and OFDMA technologies, which ensures stable operation under high load conditions.
Power and data transmission are carried out via the RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mbps port via Passive PoE 24 V technology. PoE injector is included in the supply package.
Signal transmission range
If a compact solution is required, the WB-3P-PTP2 can be used without connection to the third-party antennas. In this case, a wireless channel can be created at a distance of up to 2 kilometers. The directional angle of the built-in sector antenna is 60 × 60° (H/V), the gain is 8 dBi, and the transmit power is up to 26 dBm.
When the bridge is used in conjunction with an offset parabolic antenna, the gain is significantly increased and the directional angle is reduced. Depending on the antenna characteristics and terrain conditions, a range of up to 8 kilometers can be achieved.
Protection
The WB-3P-PTP2 is designed to operate in a variety of environmental conditions.
- The robust IP67-rated enclosure is dust and water resistant, making the bridge effectively operate in rain, snow and wet conditions. The included cable gland provides additional protection for cable connections against water and dust.
- The operating temperature range of –45 to +65 °C makes the bridge a universal solution for use in both cold and hot regions.
Security and management
The WB-3P-PTP2 supports modern authorization and encryption protocols, including WPA2, WPA3 Personal/Enterprise and OWE. To manage the wireless bridge, access rights can be assigned to roles, and authentication can be performed via local accounts or RADIUS server.
Administrators can use CLI, Telnet and SSH to manage the bridge, as well as a user-friendly web interface. NETCONF and SNMP protocols are supported for remote configuration and monitoring, respectively.
The mass-production and sales of the wireless bridge WB-3P-PTP2 are expected by the end of this year. For more information, please contact ELTEX Sales Department at
