The range of ELTEX Wi-Fi routers has been replenished with a new model

19 August 2022 ELTEX has launched serial production of the RG-5440G-Wac Wi-Fi router. New model provides a large wireless network bandwidth, high spectral efficiency, excellent performance when playing streaming video and low latency for online games. Corporate customers are provided with tools for centralized update of subscriber routers and their easy implementation into the infrastructure.

Technical specifications
RG-5440G-Wac supports Wi-Fi 5 standard (IEEE 802.11ac) and simultaneous operation in two bands – 2.4 and 5 GHz. The router is based on a dual-core processor with a clock rate of 900 MHz. The amount of RAM is 256 MB.

Heavy content over the air
Due to the support of traffic prioritization mechanisms (QoS) and MU-MIMO 4x4 technology, more devices can be connected to the router, and services that were previously available only with a wired connection can be used. Multiple users within the same wireless network can simultaneously play online games with minimal delays, watch IPTV, 4K high-definition video and download large files at high speed.
MU-MIMO 4×4 technology is complemented by TX Beamforming technology. It increases the speed and stability of the connection by concentrating the signal to user wireless devices.

Internet at high speed
Due to productive components and efficient technologies, the router has an impressive total bandwidth of 2033 Mbps: up to 300 Mbps for the 2.4 GHz band and 1733 Mbps for the 5 GHz band. If there is a need to create a high-speed wired network, the router has four gigabit LAN ports.

Safety
The RG-5440G-Wac uses WPA/WPA2 encryption protocols to protect data. If a higher level of protection is required, the WPA2-Enterprise encryption protocol is provided. Thus, the router can also be used for organizing corporate networks in small offices.
For an additional level of security, up to three guest networks (Multi-SSID) can be configured. A specific set of usage rights can be applied to each of them.

Expansion of the network coverage area
One router is rarely enough to cover an entire apartment or a private house with a wireless network, especially if they have a large area or a complex layout. There will definitely be dead zones in which the signal is either very weak or completely absent. The RG-5440G-Wac supports the EasyMesh standard (IEEE 802.11k/v). A Mesh network covering the entire room is created on the basis of the router and repeaters. It is recommended to use RG-5440G-Wac in conjunction with the ELTEX RR-10 and RR-11 repeaters.
Due to seamless roaming, when switching from one Mesh network coverage area to another, there is no need to re-log in or stop consuming online content: the created network has one SSID and password, and the transition between Wi-Fi device coverage areas will not be noticeable.

Centralized management
For centralized management of a fleet of subscriber routers, ELTEX offers corporate customers to use the Eltex.ACS system. This software allows conveniently managing the configuration, updating the software of subscriber devices and collecting data about their status.
