Mass production of WLC-15 wireless access controller

22 March 2024 WLC-15 is the base model in the Eltex line of wireless access hardware controllers. The controller is optimal for use in corporate Wi-Fi networks of small and medium-sized enterprises. The device has been put into serial production and is available for order.

We talked in detail about capabilities of WLC-15 in the publication about the pre-production release. Here are the key points:

• The controller is based on the hardware platform of the ESR-15R router and has all the advantages of operating with traffic and protecting it: IPv4/IPv6 routing, firewall, IDS/IPS intrusion detection system with a set of Kaspersky SafeStream II rules is available under separate licenses.
• Connection interfaces: 4 Ethernet ports of 1 Gbps, 2 SFP ports of 1 Gbps, console port, USB 2.0 port, hard disk slot.
• Up to 50 access points can be connected to the controller via L2/L3, and can be centrally managed. Under a separate license, you can increase the number of connected points up to 100.
• Redundancy according to the "1+1" scheme is supported. Two WLC-15 controllers can be combined into a high availability cluster, where one of them is active and the other is backup. If the active controller fails, the backup controller performs its functions.
• Latest Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 access points by Eltex are supported. The controller has basic preconfiguration, which reduces time of implementation it into network infrastructure and access points configuring.
• The built-in Airtune system automatically optimizes wireless network radio parameters: channel selection, access point power, seamless subscriber roaming in accordance with 802.11k/r standard.
• It supports latest WPA2/WPA3 encryption and authentication standards via an external/local RADIUS server, as well as LDAP.
• Management, monitoring and configuration with CLI, WEB* and ECCM cloud system.
